4.0 out of 5 stars Works for XBMC 10.0 under Ubuntu out of the box. (Plasma TV owners beware though), June 10, 2011

Loaded up the newsest Live Cd of XBMC, worked great, all buttons mapped correctly.

It does turn off my device, but despite clearly having power from my computer, it will not powerup from any button (I think it is related to the S3 in my device or Ubuntu 10.10, as another reviewer said he was able to power it on with his.)

Works great (UPDATE, if not blinded by a plasma TV).

UPDATE:
I just ordered 2 more, and the same day, I moved the box to a different room, I then noticed an issue with the device, the same issue I noticed with a previous Rosewell remote I bought as well. Plasma TVs will blind it. Previously I had a big mirror behind the couch in my living room across from my TV, and I realized the the TV was blinding my Rosewell remote (don't ask how long it took to figure that out). I have recently moved and have no mirror across from the TV now, so I didn't even think about it. But this remote suffers from the same thing, Plasma TVs... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Plug and Play with Windows Media Center 7, August 3, 2011

No problems at all with a newly built Windows 7 Home Theatre PC. Plugged in the IR receiver, pressed the little green windows button (because it was colorful) and Media Center popped up. Within minutes I had everything set up to listen to music, view pictures and record TV through a Hauppauge TV card. So happy I bought another one for a second HTPC.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for Media Center, May 26, 2011

Super-impressed by this little device. Controls the functions of the media center perfectly - volume, channels, access to videos, music, etc. Includes an IR blaster cable for anyone using a cable box / TV tuner.

I'm using this with a Win7 computer hooked up to a flat screen TV as an entertainment center for the apartment. This allows me to conveniently control the media center functions, making it much more like a television.

Physically this is built very solid with very responsive buttons.

One happy surprise worth mentioning: the power button on the remote works both to shut the computer down and start it up again. That may seem like a no brainer, but on an older computer that I have that came with a remote, the power button had only worked to turn it off.
